Another domestic brand capable of self-developed router chips is here. This time it is ZTE. They not only have powerful 5G equipment, but self-developed chips are also gradually mature. The AX5400Pro router, which will be released on November 1st, uses a twelve-core dual-engine main chip with a two-way data throughput capacity of 20Gbps. According to ZTE,This 12-core dual-engine main chip uses ZTE’s self-developed 4-core 1.1GHz CPU + 8-core NPU. Compared with the 4-core CPU+1-core NPU of the same level routers on the market, the CPU performance is increased by 120%, and the NPU (Independent Network Acceleration Engine) data forwarding performance is increased by 1400%.
With the support of the CPU+NPU engine, the two-way data throughput capacity is up to 20Gbps, with higher efficiency, lower power consumption and more stable operation. In addition, it is equipped with an independent security encryption engine, which is more than fast, and the network is more secure.
At the analyst conference a few days ago, ZTE stated that in 2021,The company expects that the total shipments of consumer products including personal terminals and home terminals will exceed 100 million units, of which more than 50% will use ZTE’s self-developed chips.
In October last year, Li Hui, vice president of ZTE, MKT and general manager of the government and enterprise department of ZTE, introduced that the products displayed by ZTE this time are all based on independent innovation and are completely localized.
On the main control chips of 5G wireless base stations, switches and other equipment, ZTE’s self-developed 7nm chip has been commercialized in the market, and 5nm is still in the experimental stage.
