The YouTube Music Widget occupies a 2*1 grid with grayscale YTM icons, track names and their sources, such as playlists (and their creators/curators), albums (with artists), or song stations. The widget updates as soon as a new song is selected.
There’s also a 1×1 grid view that displays the app’s logo and often truncated song titles in the background. It looks a little weird, but its purpose is to quickly start audio on click. This feature is similar to YouTube Music’s existing home screen widgets.
Chrome, Google Drive, Gmail, News, Maps, and Search have already launched iOS 16 Widgets, and YouTube Music got the Widget in the 5.29 update released on Tuesday.
