But today, those plans have changed due to supply chain issues. With the P5’s delivery schedule in Europe still unclear, Xpeng will turn its focus to the P7.
In response, Xpeng Motors said in a statement to the media: “As we all know, global supply chain issues have affected the auto industry for several months. Many auto brands have had to adjust their production and delivery schedules, as well as pricing, to alleviate These challenges and uncertainties. We expect that some of these challenges will continue for some time. Our latest assessment is that due to some of these challenges, the delivery times we previously expected for the P5 in Europe may not be achieved.”
“In order to minimise the impact on our customers, we are taking steps to suspend new bookings for the Xpeng P5 in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden. We believe these measures are in the best interests of our customers and will protect them from uncertainty Sexual influence.”
Xpeng Motors also said that for those customers who have pre-ordered the P5, the company is actively communicating with them about the issue and ensuring that customers receive relevant news as soon as possible. “Customer experience is our top priority,” said Xpeng Motors.
Xpeng also said the setback for the P5 would not affect its long-term strategy in Europe or its desire to build a local presence in the countries where it currently operates. Instead, Xpeng Motors is turning to encouraging European consumers to pre-order the P7 model.
For European customers who have pre-ordered the P5 before, they can change to the P7 if interested. The Xpeng P7 is currently on sale in Norway, with test drives available in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands. Xpeng Motors expects P7 deliveries to Europe to begin in the second quarter of 2023. If referenced to that date, the P5 may be delivered later.
As for the Chinese market, Xpeng Motors has said that production and deliveries of all models, including the P5, are still on schedule.
