Businesses with Professional accounts can now also use Google Maps to add a map of their location to their profile. Once the customer clicks on the map, they are given directions to navigate to the actual location of the business. Twitter’s “Place Spotlight” feature is similar to a business card on Google Maps, which displays information about a business, including its location, hours of operation and contact information. By rolling out the “Spotlight Spotlight” feature globally, Twitter may want to provide users with corporate information directly on its platform, preventing them from clicking through from Twitter and finding it on Google.
Twitter also previewed some upcoming features for Pro accounts, including a resource center called “Pro Pages.” The social network said the center will provide professionals with the ability to track performance, discover products and drive performance. The hub will be aimed at users who want more insights to improve their Twitter presence. In the coming weeks, “Professional House” will be open to all professional accounts worldwide, with additional updates throughout the year, Twitter said.
Additionally, Twitter is offering a new monthly live work conference series called “Taking Care of Business.” The series, which debuts this month, is designed to help professionals just getting started with Twitter better understand the resources available to professionals on the social network. Twitter is also launching 10 courses at the Twitter Flight School that will cover several topics such as learning how to create a community of engaged followers.
The social network first launched professional profiles last year and made the option available to all users in early March this year. Professional accounts, which Twitter refers to as “Twitter for professionals,” give brands and creators additional tools to differentiate their profiles. Twitter classifies anyone who uses Twitter for work needs as a professional.
