Next is priced at INR 6,499 (US$87), or it can be purchased in installments, starting at as low as US$27.
The two companies also revealed the specifications of JioPhone Next. This smartcell phoneEquipped with a 5.45-inch HD+ display, covered with Corning Gorilla No. 3 glass. The processor uses Qualcomm’s quad-core QM-215 chip, clocked at 1.3GHz, is equipped with 2GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage, and can be expanded with a memory card. The JioPhone Next that supports dual SIM cards is equipped with a 3500mAh battery.
This smartphone runs the Pragati operating system, which is based on the Android system and provides a series of customized features for the Indian market.
“JioPhone Next is an economical smartphone designed for India. It is inspired by the belief that everyone in India should benefit from the opportunities created by the Internet.
