The project started from the newly built Shanghai Baoshan Station in Shanghai, and connected to the existing Hefei South Station via Suzhou, Nantong, Taizhou, Yangzhou, Nanjing, Chuzhou and Hefei in Anhui Province.
Length of the line554.6 km, Including 519.9 kilometers of newly built railways and 34.7 kilometers of existing railways.
There are 16 stations on the whole line, including 10 newly built stations, Respectively are Shanghai Baoshan Station, Chongming Station, Qidongxi Station, Haimen North Station, Rugao West Station, Huangqiao Station, Taizhou South Station, Yizheng North Station, Nanjing North Station, and Dashu Station.
Supporting the construction of the Shanghai Baoshan and Nanjing North EMU Application Stations, the expansion of Nantong EMU Operation Station, the simultaneous implementation of related projects such as the relocation and transformation of the Nanjing Hub Normal Speed System, and the reservation of the North-East Link Project of Yangzhou East Station.
