Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency, soared above US$4,400 on Friday, a record high. The most widely used blockchain network is bullish in popularity. The price of this digital asset rose by 4.8% to US$4,459.20, surpassing the previous historical high of US$4,379.62 reached in May. As of 2:41 pm New York time, the price is approximately US$4,387.
Cryptocurrencies such as Binance Coin and Solana also rose. Data from CoinGecko.com shows that Ethereum is now worth more than $520 billion.
Ethereum has reached a new high, with a cumulative increase of more than 5 times this year, and far outperformed Bitcoin, due to the surge in interest from retail and institutional investors in the field.
