Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Midnights’ released this Friday
The songs were all written by Swift, along with collaborators Jack Antonoff and William Bowery (also known as her partner Joe Alwyn) and new partner Zoe Kravitz.
For the past few weeks, Swift has been revealing the album’s track titles through a series of short TikTok videos she calls “Midnights Mayhem With Me.” The standard edition of Midnights will have 13 songs, but the deluxe edition will include three additional songs — two remixes and one original.
Swift is now working with Spotify to reveal individual lyrics from the album on billboards around the world. The first billboard to appear in New York on Monday read — “I should not be left to my own devices.” Later in the day, the lyrics to another song appeared in London – “I polish up real nice”.
Where can I stream Midnights?
Like Swift’s first two albums, “Folklore” and “Evermore,” “Midnights” is bound to become a cultural phenomenon that, in turn, has the entire music industry talking about it. If you want to be among the first to join the discussion, you can tune in from midnight ET Friday.
You’ll be able to enjoy the album on all major major platforms – including Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Soundcloud, YouTube, HMV, and be among the first to get the lavender deluxe edition of Midnights from Target.
“Midnights” music video
Before his previous albums were big hits, Swift had pre-release hits like “Shake It Off,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” and “ME!” ” and other lead singles. That’s not the case with Midnights. Instead, she followed the same strategy as “Foklore” and “Evermore,” releasing a video for a track on the album at the same time as the album’s release.
The first of these videos will be the third track, “Anti-Hero,” which will premiere on YouTube Friday at 8 a.m. ET. In a video posted to Instagram, Swift described “Anti-Hero” as one of her favorite tracks she’s ever written. “I don’t think I’ve ever studied my insecurities so deeply before,” she said.
Lyric videos for all tracks will be available later the same day at 8pm ET. Then at midnight on October 25th, another music video will be made for the currently unconfirmed track.
Other important events about Midnights
As part of the Midnights album launch, Swift has a few other treats in store for avid fans. The first was a preview of the album on Prime Video during the third quarter of an NFL game on Thursday. Next, Swift will release what has been described as a “chaotic surprise” at 3 a.m. ET Friday. Then accompanying the Anti-Hero video was what she would describe as #TSAntiHeroChallenge on YouTube Shorts.
In addition, Swift will appear on several talk shows, including Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” on October 25 and “The Graham Norton Show” on October 28.
