Samsung S22 Ultra
Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled its own 200-megapixel sensor, the ISOCELL HP3, Samsung’s most advanced camera sensor yet. Previously, there were rumors that Samsung will use this sensor in the latest flagship, but for now, this may not be a reality.
The blogger said that the ISOCELL HP3 200-megapixel sensor is not specially designed for flagship phones, and the S23 Ultra, which is a flagship phone, will probably not be equipped with this sensor. On the one hand, the ISOCELL HP3 200-megapixel sensor is just a 1/1.4-inch sensor, which is smaller than the 1/1.33-inch HM3 on the S22 Ultra.
In addition, this new sensor HP3 has a native pixel size of 0.56μm, while the HM3 has a native pixel size of 0.8μm. Even after 16-in-1 binning on the HP3, the HM3’s pixels are 2.4µm, while the HP3’s is only 2.24µm. Obviously, it is impossible for Samsung to make a subtraction on the configuration of the flagship machine. However, the information is only a blogger’s revelation, and the specific situation has to wait for the official announcement.
