Standard Galaxy Watch 5
As previously rumored, the standard Galaxy Watch 5 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes. Smaller 1.19″ AM with 396×396OLEDdisplay, while the larger has a 1.36-inch AMOLED display of 450×450. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will share the same display as the 44mm size, albeit slightly larger.
Notably, the report claimsSamsungSapphire glass is used on all Galaxy Watch 5 models, which is much more resistant to scratches. Previously thought this would only be reserved for Pro
As for the battery, the 40mm Galaxy Watch 5 has a 284 mAh battery and the 44mm option has a 410 mAh battery. Samsung allegedly increased its advertised battery life from 40 hours to 50 hours as a result. Both models are 9.8mm thick, the same as the Galaxy Watch 4.
Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will be equipped with a 590mAh capacity battery with an official nominal battery life of 80 hours. Charging speeds have also doubled to 10W, as confirmed by earlier leaks. The Watch 5 Pro is 10.5mm thick.
Aside from the Galaxy Watch 5’s battery, the leak also shows that Samsung hasn’t made any major changes to the core specs. The Watch 5 is expected to retain the same Exynos W920 chip as last year along with up to 16GB of storage — no mention of RAM, but presumably unchanged.
Also mentioned are NFC, an eSIM for the LTE model, and revamped health sensors, in addition to sensors for heart rate, ECG, and similar functions. This may have something to do with rumors of temperature measurements.
