Adobe has updated the desktop version of Photoshop today, but we also see some new feature updates for the iPad version of Photoshop. As we have often seen in the past few years, Adobe’s Sensei AI is behind these new features. The biggest new feature of the desktop version of Photoshop is the automatic hovering function of the object selection tool.
The tool can now automatically detect most objects in the image and highlight the object when you hover the cursor over it. Adobe pointed out that although automatic shielding makes the object selection tool more accurate, Sensei AI has not yet reached the point where it can detect all objects in the image, but it should be reached soon because the automatic shielding on hover uses machine learning AI. In addition, users can now also enter “Layer””>”Block All Objects” to generate a mask for each object in a layer.
Echoing the automatic hover mask is a new landscape mixer neural filter, which is entering the testing phase. The landscape mixer, as it says, allows users to combine two landscape pictures to produce a new effect. For example, users can apply Landscape Mixer to make summer scenes look like winter scenes, or change the time of day described in the image.
Accompanying this is a color transfer neural filter, which will allow users to essentially transfer the color and tone of one image to another. There is also a new blend filter that will try to match the hue and brightness of one layer with the hue and brightness of another layer. Like the landscape mixer, the coordination and color transfer neural filter will enter the testing phase this year. Adobe also updated the depth blur, super zoom, style transfer, and colorization filters it introduced last year. The desktop version of Photoshop has also been updated to supportAppleProfessional display XDR and new 14 and 16 inchesMacBookPro display.
Adobe said that the application will also directly support HDR-enabled displays when properly connected. In addition, the “Export As” function previously available on Mac machines equipped with the M1 chip can now be used on all desktop operating systems, including increased speed and better color profile handling.
Photoshop users can now share their projects online to receive feedback from friends and colleagues. Users will be able to set the link as private or public, and control what the person with the link can do with the file. They can even communicate with collaborators in Photoshop, because sharing items will open a comment panel in the app itself.
In addition, Adobe said that there are four new Photoshop plug-ins available through Creative Cloud Desktop. Easy Panel, Pro Stacker, Re-Touch by FX-Ray, and APF-R. Two more, Lumenzia and TK8, will join this lineup soon, and promise that there will be more later. Coupled with application stability improvements and faster oil painting filters, and better use of the GPU, this is a considerable update.
AlthoughiPadThere are not as many new features of Photoshop as there are on the desktop, but there are still some important new features that can be discovered. Including support for Raw cameras, allowing you to download fromiPhoneImport and edit original photos from 12 and 13 Pro or digital camera photos. This new feature supports any camera raw files that Adobe Camera Raw already supports, and allows lighting and color adjustments, as well as automatic adjustments and automatic black and white.
