Phone Link and Media Player for Windows 11 are testing new features

Andrew 06/22/2022 1 min read

Microsoft’s Phone Link app on Windows 11 and Windows 10 is getting some useful new features, including a search bar. Similar to the search bar in apps like Mail UWP, Microsoft’s Phone Link now features an updated messaging interface that includes a search bar that lets you find messages.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the search bar will appear right above the list of messages. You can only search for information that has been synced to Windows 11. In addition to the new search bar, you can also split messages into two sections: recently received and hidden. Microsoft has also increased the spacing between notification tiles in apps to reduce clutter and clutter. A new option “Clear All” lets you turn off all notifications.

Microsoft has also rolled out a new version of Windows Media Player 11.2205 for Windows 11 in the Dev Channel. This update promises faster performance for users with large media collections. Likewise, songs and albums in your collection can now be sorted by date they were added.

The updated albums page in Windows Media Player lets you sort songs based on the date they were added. The company also made changes to the Media Player’s theme and improved the app’s overall ability to drag and drop content. The updates are available to everyone in the Windows Insider Program and will begin rolling out to the public.
