Musk said that many people do not understand how serious the impact on the future of mankind is that the average family has fewer than two children.
He also said whether people really understand that babies aren’t made from “some magical human factory. They have to come from somewhere, and they take a long time to grow.”
Musk has recentlyTwitterShares his thoughts on population decline. Figures he shared on Twitter showed the average family would need to have 2.1 children to maintain population-level growth.
Musk also said that people may be misled by the so-called population density, thinking that the world cannot afford more people, which is actually wrong.
Musk believes that even if the population of the earth doubles, the population density will actually still be quite low.
If you put all the people in the world side by side and pile it up “as tall as a person,” New York City could accommodate them, Musk said.
He also shared an example of how low-population Earth is when space debris fell on Earth and no one was injured.
