GODEL is a class of pre-trained models that basically allow conversational agents (such as chatbots) to provide answers based on the current conversation, while also generating external and relevant information to make your interactions more realistic and grounded.MicrosoftAn example provided is a conversation about restaurant recommendations, discussing recipes, cooking techniques, etc.
GODEL is actually an evolution of DialoGPT released by Microsoft Research in 2019. Microsoft’s automation- and human-based tests show its latest conversational AI is far superior to DialoGPT, which is why the company believes it’s ready for wider use in diverse environments.
GODEL is now available as an open source repository on GitHub, and you can also view related research papers here. It offers three variants, along with the code you need to retrain GODEL on a specific set of information.
