Interestingly,AMDThe Ryzen 7000 series AM5 platform will be available for retail on the same day as Intel’s launch. As for the exact launch date of the 13th generation Raptor Lake-S, it is currently unknown.
However, according to the plan, the blue factory will open the reservation of the i9-13900K (F) on September 27, while the i7-13700K (F) and i5-13600K (F) will be on October 13 – nearly a month behind the red team .
In terms of CPU architecture, the 13th generation uses Raptor Cove large cores (P-cores) + Gracemont small cores (E-cores). The former replaces the Golden Cove large core on the 12th-generation Alder Lake, while the number of small cores is further increased.
Here’s a summary of expected specs for Intel’s 13th Gen Raptor Lake-S desktop processors:
● Up to 24C / 32T
● New Raptor Cove large cores (P-cores), IPC performance improvement.
● Using Intel 7 (10nm ESF) process
● Expected frequencies up to 6.0 GHz
● Double the number of E-cores for some SKUs
● Increase the cache of P-Core and E-Core
● Compatible with 600 series LGA 1700 motherboards
● New Z790 / H770 / B760 chipset motherboard
— Provides up to 28 PCIe lanes, Chipset (PCH) Gen 4 + Gen 3.
— Provides up to 28 PCIe lanes, processor (CPU) Gen 5 x16 + Gen 4 x16.
● Support DDR5-5600 dual-channel memory.
● Features 20 PCIe Gen 5 lanes
● Introduces enhanced overclocking features
● The PL1 thermal design power (TDP) of the flagship SKU is 125W
● AI PCIe M.2 technology support
● 2022 Q4 release (or October)
