However, the focus of this article is the first evaluation data of Intel’s 12th generation Core mobile processor (HX55) shared by @金 Pig upgrade package.
As a 16-core Alder Lake mobile CPU, it uses a mixed core design of 8P + 8E and is aimed at the enthusiast market.
It is known that the HX series CPU provides 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes (x16 graphics card / x4SSD), and 16 PCIe 4.0 + 12 PCIe 3.0 lanes.
It’s not clear what else is different about this line of mobile CPUs compared to desktop chips. The BGA form factor is the same as the LGA, but it seems to be 2.2mm thinner, and the position of a set of chip capacitors has also been adjusted.
In this benchmark test, @金 Pig upgrade package selected two Lenovo Y9000P gaming laptops, both with DDR5-4800 memory and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics (NVIDIA GN20-E6 GPU) with TGP power consumption of 125-150W.
The two laptops use i7-12700H / i7-12800HX mobile CPUs respectively. The former belongs to the Alder Lake-P series of 14C / 20T (6P + 8E), and the latter is the Alder Lake-P series of 16C / 24T (8P + 8E). HX series.
