The shed cost about £200 ($230) from start to finish, with most of the materials purchased online. The interior is organized around a central space that serves as an actual potting area for preparing plants, with doors glazing, and a roof made of clear corrugated plastic to get plenty of natural light. There’s also some storage space inside the shed, and there’s even a small bathroom with a composter and gravity sink, and a seating area outside.
In a public vote, the potting shed topped the annual budget category and was subsequently declared the overall winner by the jury. Haworth was rewarded with a £1,000 ($1,150) prize, a personalised annual shed plaque, and some Cuprinol products.

“I’m delighted to win this year’s Cuprinol Greenhouse of the Year,” Haworth said excitedly. “It’s a true labor of love, I was inspired by my dad’s shed, and after waiting for years, I can’t wait to build my own. It’s so peaceful, I can be in the shed for a few at a time Hours, in fact I often lose track of time on the console. Being able to share this journey with people on Instagram is a lot of fun – it even encourages others to get their hands dirty too!”
