Gigabyte has created a program for users who experience this issue to upgrade to a Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS motherboard, or a motherboard very similar to the model above. If the customer does not want to proceed with the replacement, they can apply for a refund of the product.
GIGABYTE also urges all users to register their purchased motherboards, regardless of whether the version purchased is a DDR4 or DDR5 board, to guarantee warranty coverage.
This recall program will apply to all users who purchased a “Z690I AORUS ULTRA DDR4” or “Z690I AORUS ULTRA DDR5” motherboard from a non-third-party retailer. Users who have just started or have completed the RMA program will also be eligible. Note that program details may vary by region.
Gigabyte’s replacement program will begin on May 10, 2022 and end on November 30, 2022. Affected customers should visit the program website for more details to determine eligibility. Users will need to provide proof of purchase, the serial number of the motherboard, and some general information to initiate a replacement or refund.
