Cadillac released a series of new teasers Wednesday to give a preview of the Celestiq’s interior. As you can see, the seats have some striking aesthetics, with brightly stitched straps splayed across the perforated leather. There also appears to be some real metal elements near the headrests, as well as a strip of LED lights that separate the front and rear sections.
The center console also looks impressive, with more red leather and metal surrounding the piano black trim. There’s a dial at the back, probably for the infotainment system, but at this moment, no one can tell. There are many small details. The speaker grills feature what appear to be laser-cut holes embedded in folds of metal. The seat switches also look rather refined, with knurling on the controls and some impressive lighting wrapping around the unit.
Cadillac said in its press release that it wanted the Celestiq’s aesthetic to reflect the overall vision of American luxury. Given the careful attention to detail that Cadillac has shown in its interior and exterior teasers, it looks like the auto company has left no stone unturned on this.
Cadillac hasn’t really given release details for the car yet, but it’s likely to be revealed later this summer or early this fall. Plus, it will be built in Michigan, where GM invested $81 million to make it happen. The electric sedan will ride on GM’s Ultium platform, which also underpins the Lyriq SUV. It will also feature Ultra Cruise, an upgraded version of GM’s Super Cruise driver-assistance system, which allows the car to operate hands-free on city streets and other off-highways.
