In the previous trial, Depp’s strong team of lawyers used legal means to prevent some explosive charges and suspicions. Legal sources said the unpublished documents “appeared to be more detrimental to Depp as a whole”.
The document contains more than 6,600 pages, including some details related to Marilyn Manson that have been omitted. Allegedly, Depp is accused of drug use with Manson, Amber’s team has also tried to introduce more text messages between the two, and Depp’s team wants to not mention Manson in this case, and Alleging that Amber was trying to “smear Mr Depp with the theory of sitting together”.
In addition, the court documents also touch on Depp’s ex-girlfriend Ellen Barkin, who told the court about Depp’s alleged drug use in the late 1990s.
The document also mentioned that Depp’s team had highlighted Amber’s past experience as a stripper. And Amber’s team has also tried to mention Depp’s drug problems.
Lawyers contacted by Rolling Stone agreed that the Depp-Amber feud will continue. Both have also notified the court that they plan to appeal their respective sentences. In the process, Amber is likely to use some pretrial findings that have not entered the trial process before as part of the basis for his appeal.
