The update was released to the public on August 17. Of course, these security fixes (except the new ones) are all included in iOS 16, so it’s no surprise that Apple stopped supporting iOS 15.6.1.

However, because the system protection has become so powerful, the tool is only available from iOS 15.0 to iOS version 15.1.1.
While you can’t easily revert to iOS 15.6.1 or even iOS 15.1, you still have the chance to downgrade from iOS 16 to the newer version of iOS 15. That’s because Apple released iOS 15.7 last week, which brought security fixes for users who didn’t want to install iOS 16 yet.
