According to Semrush’s analysis, Apple ranks among the top 15 companies in the Fortune 100 that spend the most money on search advertising.In 2020, the Cupertino technology giant invested $64.8 million in search ads, which are ads that appear in results when users use search engines to find certain content. Semrush, a manufacturer of search engine optimization and positioning tools, uses its own tools to analyze monthly traffic costs to obtain these data.
In the list of Fortune 100 companies,AppleRanked 12th overall, second only to Nike at 11th and Wal-Mart at 10th.
Alphabet, Google’s parent company, spent the most money on search advertising in 2020, approaching $774 million. Amazon ranked second with $471 million, andMicrosoftRanked fourth with 160 million US dollars.
Other companies in the top ten include Charter Communications, Progressive, AT&T, Verizon, StateFarm, and The Home Depot.
The total cost of advertisers on paid search advertising is estimated at 59.22 billion U.S. dollars, of which Fortune 100 companies are responsible for approximately 3.05 billion U.S. dollars. Paid search advertising is based on a pay-per-click model, and the company will only pay for it when a user clicks on the ad.
Semrush uses the average click-through rate and the positioning of the keywords in its database for the top eight paid locations on Google ads to calculate its data.
