Eligible developers will receiveappleReparations ranging from $250 to $30,000. Since not all eligible developers have filed applications, settlements may be higher in some cases. Only U.S. developers who earned less than $1 million through the App Store per calendar year between June 4, 2015 and April 26, 2021 and filed a claim by the May 20, 2022 deadline will receive payment.
About 67,000 developers are eligible to file a claim, according to court documents. It is unclear how many claims have been filed. Apple has denied all allegations, and the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing by the company. Developers who receive the settlement can no longer sue Apple individually over the same claims made in the class action, including any claims that Apple overcharged them because of the App Store’s fee structure.
