Kotick has been on the cusp of public opinion since the Activision Blizzard scandal unfolded last July, when the CEO was accused not only of concealing what he knew was harassment, abuse, and threats to subordinates. But as things stand now, Kotick will work at Activision Blizzard until 2023.
However, the proposal does not mean that Kotick will continue to serve as CEO.MicrosoftAfter completing the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Kotick will resign with a departure fee of tens of millions of dollars, and his departure seems to be imminent.
Earlier this month, Activision Blizzard released its own internal findings via its investor website. While the report did acknowledge individual instances of harassment, it claimed there was “no evidence” that senior executives ignored the harassment or withheld information from the board.
