It is understood that the first satellite Internet of Things under construction in my country-the “Xingyun Project”-is about to enter the stage of mass networking. The “Xingyun Project” will build a set of Internet of Things constellation system consisting of 80 satellites to connect various Internet of Things information nodes or sensors around the world. The launch of 12 satellites will be completed in 2022.

At this forum, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation announced that my country’s first real-time remote sensing constellation will start construction. The constellation will be composed of hundreds of low-orbit remote sensing satellites, forming a global coverage of the earth observation capability, especially the observation efficiency will be greatly improved. After the networking is completed, satellite observation data in any area of the world can be obtained within a few minutes, whereas the acquisition of remote sensing satellite data in the past often took several hours or even days.

There are inter-satellite links between satellites, so that the same area can be continuously observed by many satellites, and high-frequency observation capabilities up to the minute level can be achieved.
