Airbnb announced the expansion of one of its main security features-Urgent Support Line-to 11 new languages. The one-click feature in the Airbnb app was first developed in 2020. This provides hosts and guests with the opportunity to directly contact the company’s community support security team within 30 seconds when there is an emergency during the effective booking period.
Initially, this security feature was only available in English, but now it is being expanded to use Hungarian, Czech, Italian, German, Malay, Spanish, Dutch, Korean, French, Brazilian Portuguese or Japanese as the main language Of Airbnb users.
Airbnb’s announcement mentioned: “Security issues during Airbnb bookings are extremely rare, but when they happen, we will quickly provide support from our well-trained crisis support team members to help our hosts and guests ease the situation and prioritize them. Consider their safety. For example, situations where we strongly encourage the use of the emergency support hotline include threats to personal safety, such as ongoing unauthorized gatherings or violations of privacy.”
Airbnb users can only use this feature during active Airbnb bookings because it appears in the app’s security center 24 hours before check-in, but disappears 24 hours after check-out. If users call the emergency support hotline with non-urgent issues, the support team will transfer them to the general community support hotline.
Users can also take advantage of the Local Emergency Services function, which can help guests contact local emergency services in 34 regions.
